Privacy Policy

This explains what Chaos Client (the website, the launcher and the client) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking cookies.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, username and password. Passwords are stored hashed by our auth provider; we can't see them.
  • Licenses: your license keys, their plan and dates, and a PC ID. The PC ID is a one-way hash made on your computer, so the actual hardware value never leaves it.
  • Payments: the plan, amount, status and payment reference. Card and wallet details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
  • Security logs: when a key is activated or you log in to the launcher, we record the time and a one-way hash of your IP address, to stop abuse and key sharing. Raw IP addresses are not stored.
  • Launcher logins: your PC's name, so you can see and sign out launchers from your account.
  • Suggestions: anything you send through the launcher, including screenshots you attach.

What stays on your PC

Client settings, waypoints, friends and similar data are saved only on your computer. The Spotify widget reads what's playing from Windows on your PC and doesn't send it anywhere.

Who processes it

We use these services to run Chaos: Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (account emails), Stripe (card payments), and GitHub (launcher downloads). They only get what they need to do that job.

How long we keep it

Account, license and payment records are kept while your account exists and as long as needed for accounting and disputes. Security logs are kept for a limited time. Suggestions are kept until we delete them.

Your choices

You can change your email and password in your account, and sign out any launcher there. To get a copy of your data or have your account deleted, email support@chaosclient.com.

Children

Chaos isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
